A very commonly discussed issue when buying a product etc. “Which is better?” Be it, iPhone or Blackberry,Toyota or Honda, Nokia or Motorola etc. It all comes down to one very important thing and that is what you want and or prefer. If you prefer a big screen then you should not be looking at Blackberry (of cos Blackberry also has models with big screen). If you prefer to type on a qwerty keyboard, then you should not be choosing iPhone and that sort of thing.

Believe it or not, just by throwing you with the pros and cons which you can find out from thousands and thousands of websites with iPhone or Blackberry. You will still not be able to decide which brand you would choose and why. A logical way to decide is to find out what you want. Below is a list of conditions which you need to come up with pertaining to buying a phone or any other product. You will need to rank the importance of your preference. Once you have ranked the importance, you will be able to easily pick the device of your choice. I once pondered between this 2 brands too. Let me explain how I do my ranking of priorities. The total should add up to 100%.

• Business use – for replying of emails on the go. I do need this function but not that often. So I give it a 15% importance.
• Chat – I seldom chat on the phone even though I do it sometimes. I still prefer doing it on my pc chatting with friends on msn. So I give this a 10% importance.
• Screen Size – I really prefer a big display so in this aspect I am giving it a 40% importance.
• Games – It is definitely nice to play games on a big screen and especially when there are so many games in the app store. But I am not a very gaming person. So its 10% importance for this one.
• Applications – Range of applications. I really like exploring with different different kind of Apps and think its one of the most important factor after screen size. So it’s a 25%.

The total above adds up to 100%. Personally I would place screen size and applications as my priority which is why I gave it a 40% and 25% priority respectively. Some people might give screen size a 20% importance and give chat a 40% importance because they chat a lot and does not mind the smaller screen. When you list out the importance of your preference, then you will be able to see clearly what is it that suits you. Even then, some people might follow the trend and go with the crowd and then realise later that it’s the other brand which they would have preferred. Choose wisely!
